Robidoux Campground, NE • Scotts Bluff

This was a nice city campground that was once private with full hook-ups. Wasn’t much to do at the campground itself but walk the dogs around the loops.

Scott’s Bluff National Monument was within sight of the campground.

There was a narrow road with three tunnels that we drove to the top of Scott’s Bluff. There was about of mile of walking trails at the top with fantastic views.

We chatted with this pioneer woman about what kind of things they carried in their wagon.  I learned that no one rode in the wagon unless they were sick or very small.

After coming down from Scott’s Bluff we went in the visitors center and then walked a trail with Oregon Trail covered wagon replicas. I was amazed at how narrow the wagons were! We even walked a little of the Oregon Trail here.

Next stop: Methodist Cove Core of Engineers, Republican City NE
